From August 31 to September 2, with the theme of "Smart Animal Husbandry, Innovative Cooperation, Leading Running, and Worldwide Fame", Lamb Trade Conference (2022) for Meat Platform of Northern Shanxi was held in Huairen, Shuozhou. Zhang Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of SXAU, was invited to attend the conference and participated in the province's high-quality animal husbandry development meeting which was also known as rural industry development promotion meeting.
Opening Ceremony
After the opening ceremony, the leaders and guests visited the exhibition area of SXAU. Zhang Qiang introduced the scientific & technological innovation and demonstration & promotion achievements of the university in serving the agricultural and animal husbandry interlaced areas. The leaders at the meeting fully affirmed the achievements and hoped that SXAU would provide strong scientific and technological support for the development of the animal husbandry industry by focusing on the "special" and "excellent" strategies of agriculture conducted by Shanxi province.

In this exhibition, more than 30 scientific and technological achievements of SXAU were exhibited, such as Changfen No. 3 and Changfen No. 4 forage millet new strains, Fendou Mulu No. 2 and No. 9 new soybean varieties for both pasture and green manure, Changyu 908 silage corn, Heimeike Oat, Taihang white yew grass, "Jinnong No. 1" Lespedeza davurica, "Jinmu No. 3" forage sorghum, Jinfen white pig, Bian chicken, special Tibetan cold hybrid sheep, Jinnan cattle germplasm characteristics and high efficiency production technology research, evaluation of rabbit feed resources and key technologies for healthy and efficient breeding, oat grass mulching machine hole-sowing dry farming and high-yield planting technology, key technology research and industrialization of alpaca breeding in China, Integration and demonstration of sheep raising technology, key technology and application of high-quality and high-efficiency silage for forage grass, quality control and development of sheep bone soup and mutton products, new Chinese veterinary drugs and new products of feed additives, complete nutrition forage compound pellet feed of healthy and efficient breeding of mutton sheep, etc.. Besides, the university also exhibited more than 100 objects, and distributed more than 10,000 copies of publicity materials.
This three-day conference was hosted by Shuozhou Municipal People's Government, Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Shanxi Province, Department of Commerce of Shanxi Province, Taiyuan Customs District P.R.China and China Animal Agricultural Association, undertaken by Huairen County-level People's Government, and China Entry-Exit Inspection & Quarantine Association, China Meat Association, Shanxi Agricultural University, Shanxi Animal Agricultural Association, etc. were the supporting units. During the conference, more than 10 special events such as scientific and technological forums, exhibition and promotion, new product release, and production supply and demand docking were also held.
A total of more than 30 people from SXAU, including deans of Department of Scientific Research Management, Department of Social Service, College of Animal Science, College of Veterinary Medicine and researchers of the related units, participated in the exhibition.
