-R&D and Standardized Application of ‘Bionic’Precision Management of Oriental Fruit Moth in Orchards
Based on the theoretical basis of insect semiochemicals communication, we conducted the research and development of bionic management of the oriental fruit moth Grapholita molesta with focus on sex pheromone and host plant volatiles, and had formed a new strategy, new technology, new products and new standards for precise management of G. molesta. We had optimized the artificial synthesis route of G. molesta sex pheromone, and developed a variety of semiochemicals related products. Our experimental results revealed the mating strategy and the spatial and temporal distribution of G. molesta, and showed that using the mating disruption strategy could precisely control G. molesta. We also drafted the sex pheromone application criteria based on 28 trapping parameters obtained from our field experiments, and proposed an integrated ecological management system, which mainly relied on bionics, for controlling orchard pests. Our achievements could provide technical support and technological guidance for the transformation and upgrading of modern fruit industry, the development of organic orchards and industrial revitalization.
